BIOGRAPHY
Australian US-based Patty Zagarella produces and directs content unrestricted by form, genre or platform. She is the creator of the new (ITVS funded) Independent Lens digital series, Blind Love, which follows four single blind millennials in their search for love. Her documentary, Baring It All, produced for The Style Network, was a Daytime Emmy winner. An OK! Critic’s Pick of The Week, the film was noted as “a startling, moving and beautiful documentary”. Patty’s documentary, Walk Like a Man, a co-production between LOGO (USA) and SBS (Australia), was also a Critic’s Pick to rave reviews: “Moving and marvelously funny, inspirational stuff”, “this excellent documentary will be an eye opener”. In the feature space, Patty produced A Tale of Two Pizzas with Frank Vincent, Vinnie Pastore & Patty D’Arbanville; and the Oscar Qualifying short film, Border. When not directing documentaries or producing fiction, Patty executive produces on top-rated shows for VH1, BET, Discovery and WETV.
Patty is a member of the Producer’s Guild First Look Documentary Committee; she serves as a mentor for LGBTQ youth at The Center in NYC and thanks to her latest documentary has become a member of Achilles International NYC chapter.
